Training Overview Today’s training will include:

Changes to the SC-Alt The SC-NCSC and SC-Alt Social Studies paper tests are no longer administered. All tests are now part of the online SC-Alt administration. Students will take all high school subject tests prior to the end of their third year of high school. Districts will determine in which year each assessment will be administered. The Test Security Affidavit is no longer validated in TIDE. The affidavit will appear at the end of each subject test as two separate test questions. TAs are not required to attend an in-person training in There are a number of changes to policies, procedures, and testing for the 2019 administration. Changes to the SC-Alt If a student does not respond to an item, the TA will select [No Response] to skip that item and move on to the next. There are no Second Raters for the new SC-Alt. Testing Monitors, Technology Coordinators, Second Raters, and Principals will not have TIDE accounts in Text-to-Speech is replaced by human-recorded audio files. Voice packs are no longer required. DTC-Alt Responsibilities Before Testing
Ensure that all test administrators (TAs) meet all training requirements for the SC-Alt Identify all students residing in the district who are participating in the SC-Alt and ensure they are all included in TIDE Identify all TAs, STCs, and monitors in the district and ensure they are all included in TIDE Have all STCs, TAs, and monitors sign the Agreement to Maintain Test Security and Confidentiality Sign the Agreement to Maintain Test Security and Confidentiality These slides goes over DTC-Alt Responsibilities for the Spring 2018 administration of the South Carolina Alternate assessments. DTC-Alt Responsibilities Before Testing
Be familiar with all information in the TAM Be responsible for making sure TAs have access to students’ State Student IDs (SSIDs) Order and distribute Test Administration Manuals (TAMs) as needed Order paper materials students who require paper accommodation materials in TIDE Identify students who are not testing due a medical exemption and include them in TIDE DTCs must also: Be familiar with all information in the TAM Be responsible for making sure TAs have access to students’ State Student IDs (SSIDs) Order and distribute Test Administration Manuals (TAMs) as needed Order paper materials students who require paper accommodation materials in TIDE Identify students who are not testing due a medical exemption and include them in TIDE

DTC-Alt Responsibilities During Testing
Order additional paper-accommodated test materials, if necessary. Pre-identify any new students eligible for the Alternate Assessments. Ensure that TAs administer all required tests. Ensure that lines of communication between the student’s enrolled district and the student’s attending district are clear when students are served by a facility or school that is outside the student’s enrolled district. Work with teachers of students without an observable mode of communication to ensure that a communication plan is in place and contact the SCDE to initiate a review of the student’s IEP. During testing, DTCs-Alt must: Order additional paper-accommodated test materials, if necessary Pre-identify any new students eligible for the Alternate Assessments Ensure that TAs administer all required tests. DTC-Alt Responsibilities After Testing
Return all paper test materials to AIR by April 10, 2019. Receive family score reports and route them to teachers/schools that are serving the students. Keep the signed Agreements to Maintain Test Security and Confidentiality in the district for three years.
