Power Generation capacity of Bihar
Solar generation capacity is only 12% of new RPO target for FY Non-Solar generation capacity is 21.15% of new RPO target for FY
5
Challenges to achieve new RPO trajectory
Bihar, with only about 0.5% of the total land available as barren land, provides very little opportunity for developers to set up solar power projects in the State Solar power project developers find it very difficult to identify and acquire the requisite land bank at a commercially viable price Due to lower Solar irradiation, power generated is costlier than other renewable resource rich states.
