7. Celebrate Chinese New Year
Chinese New Year is the most significant holiday on the Chinese calendar.
Families usually gather for a reunion dinner on New Year’s Eve. There is a tradition to eat fish as it is believed that fish will bring wealth in the new year.
Red pockets （红包）are cash gifts that are given by senior family members to their juniors.
New Year’s firecrackers are made from strings of rolled red paper containing gunpowder. Traditionally, it is believed that the loud noise of the firecrackers serves to scare away evil spirits, although nowadays firecrackers are banned in many cities for safety reasons.

8. Celebrate Chinese New Year
Lion Dance is a colorful traditional dance, which is said to bring good luck. It is performed outdoors to the accompaniment of drums and cymbals, sometimes as a street parade.
Decorating. You can always tell when Chinese New Year is around the corner. Red lanterns are hung up in streets, while windows and doors are decorated with posters and papers.  The color red is everywhere, because it is associated with wealth and good fortune in Chinese culture.
