Challenge question-how does the vegetation adapt in the hot desert?
How does the vegetation adapt in the tropical rainforest biome and what is it adapting to? (6 marks) In the rainforest biome the leaves are pointed with drip tips (1) These drip tips channel the water off the leaf to stop it from rotting in the heavy rains (2). The tallest emergent trees are supported by buttress roots (1). The roots anchor the trees in place in the shallow soils and draw nutrients from the top layer (2).
