3. When you select New Slide, a new slide will appear
When you select New Slide, a new slide will appear. For each slide you will have to select a slide layout. Once you have selected a layout, the new time you click on New Slide, the current selection will open; you can change the layout at any time.
The benefit to using the slide layouts is that every slide will be uniform. However, sometimes it is easier to use a blank slide so that you can format your image and text layouts as you wish.

4. Font Size and Style
Be consistent in font size and style. Font size should be large enough for an audience to read comfortably. This is 24. This is 32. Play with the font size until it feels right.
Also be consistent with font style. This is Arial. This is Times. This is unreadable.
Typing in ALL CAPS for any length of time makes your text difficult to read. Fancy fonts can be eyesores as well.

5. Font color and style in design themes can be changed as well.
