5 Ethical considerations
Clear, unambiguous language? Requirements clearly stated? e.g., supplies, time? Warning of possible harm if necessary?

6 How to Write For readers who perform the action:
Select a topic (see pp. 167, 169) for suggestions. Ask: a. Is it important, useful, interesting? b. What person is this to be written in?  What are the separate actions?  (Do not ignore the obvious.) d. What are the reasons for the actions? e. Is a warning necessary?

7 For readers who won’t perform the action:
Decide on purpose and audience. Arouse interest. Do not drown reader with a flood of ideas. Conclude by giving some perspective. Evaluate the results of the process Assess the importance of the process. Show future consequences.

9 Assignment Using your chart (brainstorm) as a guide, write a 3 paragraph (minimum) process analysis for one of the three audiences mentioned earlier. Your choice of topic.

10 Evaluate your Process Analysis
Does the introduction establish a purpose and a product or result? Have you clearly identified the audience? Have you told the reader everything needed? Is each step clearly, fully, accurately presented? Is there a reason given for each action or stage? Are all necessary warnings included? If two steps are performed or occur at the same time, have you warned the reader? Do links and transitions distinguish the major steps/substeps? What will be the result?  Conclusion?
