Lesson Goal: Demonstrate what you have learned by completing a quiz on the “Be Verbs.”
Outcomes: Be able to . . . Demonstrate your ability to recite the 23 “be verbs.” Identify passive “be verbs” in any given sentence. Explain how to change passive sentences (“passive voice”) to active sentences (“active voice”). Apply the method for changing passive sentences to active sentences.

Starter #1 Please take everything off from your desk, except for a pen. . . .
Without any notes or handouts in front of you, I will let you review for our quiz in this way: How many of you would like to sing the “Be Verbs Lullaby” for our class? You may do this with friends if you wish.

Starter #2 When you are finished with today’s quiz, you will be allowed to read or to take an AR test. You should bring an AR book with you every day, to every class. If you did not bring a book to read, please borrow one from our Reading Cove and place it under your desk. At the end of the period, please remember to return it carefully to the same place where you found it. Thanks!
