Climatographs Represent biomes and climates of different regions

Features Average monthly temperature and precipitation, averaged over about 30 years Temperature is always a line graph Precipitation is always a bar graph Months = x axis T and ppt =y axis T = LH scale ppt = RH scale What biome is this?

Assignment 1) Label the 6 biomes on the Activity Sheet “Biomes of the World.” DON’T USE YOUR BOOK (DON”T CHEAT!), but you can use your notes from yesterday! 2) Investigation 11-A, pg. 405, “Make a Climatograph”.

Making a Climatograph Mark 12 equal intervals on the x-axis. Label each interval with the first letter of each month (eg – J F M A M J J A S O N D) On the left vertical axis mark 9 equal intervals starting at 0 and ending at 180. (intervals = 20). Label this axis precipitation (mm). On the right vertical axis mark seven equal intervals beginning with -35°C and ending at +25°C. (intervals = 10). Label this axis temperature (°C). Enter all of the data and add the title: Climatograph for , Alberta. Do questions #1-4 on page 405.
