Opening Problem Take out your math packet. Solve in your notebook:
I am going to set the timer for 5 minutes. Determine the pattern that you see. Try to create an equation for the pattern. When timer goes off, I will set it again for 1 minute for students to talk with their neighbors. I will randomly call on 3 students to share how they saw the pattern and if they had an equation for it. Then I ask the class if anyone used a different strategy than what the 3 students just shared.

Rational Numbers on the Number Line
I will be able to: * locate positive and negative integers on a horizontal number line and recognize that the opposite of the opposite of a number is the number itself So I can represent real world situations with integers and determine if a statement is written correctly. I will know I got it when I can independently read and write the solutions to the quiz with at least 80% accuracy. 6.NS.C.5, 6.NS.C.6a, 6.NS.C.6c
