4 Facility Information Mission – A world where everyone has a place to live. Services provided: Provide homes for individuals in need. Duties of Volunteers: Construct homes with other HFH workers, [perform warehouse duties, and furniture deliveries. Projects completed: Several newly constructed homes in Owensboro.

6 Facility Information Mission - Provide a safe environment for individuals with intellectual disabilities and promote independence, life skills, community access and involvement, social interaction, communication, self-worth and build trusting relationships between clients, staff, and families, Services provided: Provide a person centered approach with clients in the community. Duties of Volunteer: work with clients on site while incorporating a social atmosphere for them.

Duties of Volunteer: Attend court cases regarding juveniles while working with judge, interview people, and write case briefs for judge. Projects completed: Research project and video outline. Provide family court services.

11 Facility Information Mission – Enhance student ability to succeed by developing and sustaining partnership in early learning, graduation, and well being. Services provided: Help families and schools while providing for the needs of the children. Duties of Volunteers: Plan and care for children. Projects completed: Painted a mural. Assisted with the Born Learning Academy.

14 HOPE FOR LIFE Mission - To empower men and women to make life-affirming decisions regarding pregnancy, as well as the value of abstinence before marriage by offering hope, opportunity, prayer, and education through the message of God's Word. Services provided: pregnant mother services Duties of Volunteers: Watching babies, and leading projects Projects completed: Reviewed New Chapters Book with Pregnant Mothers at site.

15 Girls, INC. Student Participation Chandler Adams

16 Facility Information Mission – Inspire all girls to be smart, strong, and bold. Services provided: classes for crafts, cooking, and learning behaviors. Also field trips taken. Duties of Volunteers: spending quality time and mentoring the children at the site.

17 Service Learning Component
The Fall 2018 Corrections course had a service learning component in addition to the coursework for this class. Students were required to perform 40 hours of volunteer work at the site they selected. A weekly journal was maintained by the student with regard to this experience. A reflection document was submitted at the end of the semester about this experience.

20 Facility Information Mission - St. Benedict’s Emergency Shelter for men is the only emergency shelter in Owensboro that serves 60 men nightly. Services provided: Provide a safe non-judgmental setting for clients to include sleeping quarters, food, showers, toiletries provided, and clothing to homeless clients. Volunteer duties: Front desk check in of clients and administered breath analyzer testing.
