Why Create a Solid Waste Plan?
To adhere to the Sedgwick County (SC) Solid Waste Plan “SC expects all cities to contract or franchise solid waste collection.” “the franchise or contract agreement must include at a minimum: curbside recycling and volume-based trash rates.” SC Plan seeks to achieve: “waste minimization” “development of the best solid waste collection contract or franchise to meet the needs of the city and their citizens.”

September 27, 2011 City Council workshop October 11, 2011 City Council considers plan November 1, 2011 Haulers submit plans to comply with new licensing requirements November 1, 2012 Revised licensing requirements take effect
