What have we been learning about?
Literacy
We are now focusing upon using our knowledge of sounds to write words independently. This term we will learn about the structure of a sentence. Handwriting practice will be ongoing.
Maths & Numeracy
We have been learning about numbers to 20, addition & subtraction. We are going to apply our knowledge of measure to complete an investigation.
HWB
We are now working on ‘Being Cool in School’.

Our work in class
After a busy start to the year, we are looking forward to the term ahead and lots of opportunities for quality learning.
This term, there will be a health focus where we will discuss and learn about what keeps our minds and bodies healthy. We will work on ‘Being Cool in School’ which enables us to develop strategies to help us in school and in the playground.
We also continue our work on ‘Learning Superpowers’. The children have been very enthusiastic about using their learning superpowers across the curriculum and we continue to develop this work in class.
Reminders
Our door is now open from 8.45am and children are invited to come into school from then on. Thanks for your support with this so far.
Homework Corner
Pick ‘n’ Mix homework will continue this month. We appreciate the ongoing support and we hope you are enjoying opportunities for dialogue about learning with your child.
Dates for the Diary
25th February – Fairtrade workshops (visiting school – no cost)
P1Y will continue to welcome our work experience student – Emily from Lasswade High School – on Wednesday afternoons
