Genesis of SOPHIA occurred at the 2010 HIA of Americas workshop
SOPHIA was established in 2011
HIA of Americas became Practitioners Workshop and has been hosted by SOPHIA since 2014

Mentor/mentee opportunities through the Peer-Exchange program
Additional networking and career building opportunities (e.g., participating in SOPHIA leadership, becoming part of the CHIA (Chronicles of Health Impact Assessment) editorial board)
