5 Chapter One We will read from page 7 to half of page 19. As we read the first half of Chapter One together, fill in as much of the Chart as possible.

What hints are we given about what has happened to the boys? 5. What is the “scar” that is often mentioned at the beginning of this chapter? 6. Who makes the first leadership decisions and what are they? 7. Between Ralph and Piggy, who is more clever? Explain your answer.
