Location Tracking Device (LTD)
Alan Holguin
2
Project Description The Location Tracking Device will be a sticker like device that will use a gps module to transmit the latitude and longitude of the device to a smartphone application. The device will talk to your smartphone through Bluetooth while it is in range, and will notify you with its last known location.

Features Functions The LTD will be light weight.
It will also be water resistant. It can be attached to virtually anything The primary function of the LTD is to take the longitude and latitude of the device and communicate it to a receiver every certain amount of time. It will use this data to lookup the location on google maps and put a pinpoint on the exact location of the device.

Architectural Design LTD will consist of an Arduino Nano, GPS Module, and Bluetooth Module. GPS Module will get a satellite fix and keep track of Longitude and Latitude. Arduino Nano will read the coordinates information every certain amount of time. Bluetooth Module will transmit the data from the Arduino Nano to the Phone Application Lastly, the Phone application will use the location data to display a pin point on a map to show the location of the device.

Schedule I plan on dividing the project into four blocks in order to approach it more coherently. First block being the hardware, where I want to get the 3 components to work together. Second block being the software, where I build the application to take input and produce an output. Third block would be the integration of the hardware and software and have it communicate with each other. Lastly, it would be testing, where I plan on getting rid of any bugs and testing all case scenarios.
