Figure 1 (A) Gross appearance of endomyometrioma: thick-walled cystic mass filled by red-brownish, chocolate-like material. (B) A thick muscular wall and a cavity lined by columnar epithelium associated with endometrial stroma are seen with the microscope (hematoxylin-eosin; original magnification, ×100). (C) Area with lining composed of atypical cells. Cells show abnormal nucleus and eosinophilic cytoplasm. Several hemosiderin-laden macrophages are present between lining and muscular wall (hematoxylin-eosin; original magnification, ×200).
