First principles and integrated modelling achievements towards trustful fusion power predictions for JET and ITER Significant work performed for DT extrapolation activity at JET: Fruitful collective work Transport analyses in D plasmas show significant good agreement of Quasi-linear models (TGLF, QuaLiKiz) with experimental data Less reliable for H plasmas: due to deviations from Gyro-Bhm scaling in the experiment Gyrokinetic simulations show that several effects play a role in the isotope effect: ExB shearing, Ti/Te, zonal flows, collisionality, beta Extrapolations to JET-DT lead to a fusion power of MW, regardless the modelling approach used Extrapolations to DT show a significant higher thermal confinement in DT with respect to DD with quasi-linear models: up to 17MW could be obtained Alpha particle effects could be visible: significant central electron heating and destabilization of TAE
