2 Limits As the inputs of a function get infinitesimally close to a value c, the limit tells if value of the function is getting close to some value L. Read “limit as x approaches c of f of x equals L” It’s asking “What is the value of f(x) as x approaches c”. It is NOT asking what is the value of f(x) at x = c.
