In Bratislava ZOO there are many beautiful and rare plants. There is also a small lake. The ZOO is situated near the  D1 motorway. The ZOO have a noise barrier wall and also have a big parking lot for visitors.

DATING
A proposal to establish a zoo in Bratislava first appeared in 1948
HISTORICAL/SCIENTIFIC/ARTISTIC INFORMATION
At first, in 1949, it was considered to build a Zoo in the area of Železná studnička. But the experts’ reports had confirmed this location as unsuitable. A new alternative was therefore accepted – to build up a Zoo in Mlynská dolina which originally covered 9 ha and later expanded to 90 ha.

CONDITION OF PRESERVATION
This ZOO provide the protection of animals according to European Endangered species Programmes (EEP) and European StudBooks (ESB) for various endangered animal species. Each EEP has a breeding coordinator and many Zoos participate in it. EEP coordinators are responsible for collecting information on the status of particular animal species, producing studbooks citing demographical and genetic analyses.
VISITING TIME
Summer 9am - 6pm
(April 1st - September 30th)
In Summer - last entry at 6pm, area is open until 7pm
October 10am - 4pm
In October - last entry at 4pm, area is open until 5pm
Winter 10am - 3pm
(November 1st - February 28th)
In Winter - last entry at 3pm, area is open until 4pm
March 10am - 4pm
In March - last entry at 4pm, area is open until 5pm
Open daily throughout the year and during holidays - except January 1.

The director is Ing. Miloslava Šavelová.
TICKETS AND BOOKING
You can book online on their website or buy it in the ZOO. The ticket for kids costs 5euros and adults costs 7euros.

You can get there by car , bus or even by taxi. It is situated near the motorway D1 and some restaurants. Near the ZOO is shopping mall Cubicon.
FACILITIES
There are some restaurants, souvenir shops, dino park , toilets and parking lot near the ZOO.
