Design, scale-up and commission bioprocesses to operate under aseptic conditions
Design and test bioprocesses including the use of process simulations for optimisation
Use software to develop new and optimise existing bioprocesses
Develop a control strategy for a bioprocess and products
Develop routine testing and maintenance programmes for process equipment based on the control strategy
Collect and analyse data to make improvements to operational bioprocesses
Collate and analyse process and product KPIs to streamline production & maximise efficiency
Bioprocess engineers develop, configure and optimise industrial processes from inception through start-up, certification and routine production
Use business improvement techniques to improve the performance of a bioprocess
Investigate and resolve problems relating to the bioprocess or product
Work with other departments, internal and external, to resolve process and engineering issues
Conduct risk assessments to ensure bioprocess and product meet safety & regulatory requirements
Undertake risk assessments of equipment and bioprocesses
Work with relevant departments to demonstrate compliance with internal and external regulations
Manage and optimise costs associated with bioprocesses and products
Manage the budget for a bioprocess installation within area of responsibility
Develop a cost model for the bioprocess and use it to optimise process and product costs
