1 Welcome to third grade!

2 My mom and sister are also teachers just like me!
Fun Fact My Family I used to teach English in a country called Thailand. I had 41 students! Thailand is an 18 hour plane ride away! I grew up on Long Island with my Mom, Dad, Sister, and dog Skilly. My mom and sister are also teachers just like me! What I did this Summer: I love to spend time with my friends and family. My favorite trip this Summer was to the New York Botanical Gardens. Fun Fact: I am a certified scuba diver!

4 Every day we will post the daily schedule on the whiteboard
Every day we will post the daily schedule on the whiteboard. The order might change throughout the day, but they’re there so you can know what to expect !

5 Come in quietly & check off your name on the attendance board
Put your backpack away in the locker (we will create backpack spots for you later today) Hand in homework and notes to the teacher Sharpen your pencils for the day (no more than 2 each morning) Check the ‘Do Now’ and complete it at your seat

6 Lunch crate carriers will bring the lunchboxes to the cafeteria.
When it is time for lunch we will line up quickly & quietly (the quicker we go, the more recess time we have!) At recess, we should always play kindly & fairly and treat everyone with respect. If someone is hurting you, you MUST tell an adult. You must respect and listen to the adults on lunch duty. Always. Lunch orders will be taken in the morning.

7 *Homework passes can be earned and used only once a week*
Most days you will have homework and all homework should be completed the night before it is due. Hand in homework in the homework bin. If for some reason you do not have the homework, you must explain either verbally or on a note to Miss. Papa before lunch and we can talk about if and how you can make it up. Repeated missed homework results in a note or call home! *Homework passes can be earned and used only once a week*

9 Froggy Volume On the whiteboard you will see a small frog and lilypads. Each numbered lilypad stands for the noise level expectation at that time.

10 Froggy Volume Silence- we are absolutely quiet at this time. We are taking a test or listening to an important announcement. 1 Whisper- Only one person should be able to hear you. We are quietly working independently or reading. 2 Table Talk- quiet conversation voice, but only your table should be able to hear you. 3 Conversation- normal voice, but you shouldn’t be heard across the room Presenter voice- You are reading aloud for the class or presenting in some way. We need to hear you loud and clear! 4

11 Check your mailbox for important notices!
You will be called by teams to collect your backpacks and pack your things, we will discuss what you’ll need to go home. Students will be called by Busers, Walkers, and Aftercare. Check the clothespins near the door. If the way you get home is changing, let Miss. Papa know ASAP (in the morning). A letter or call to the school is also needed. Froggy volume will be at a 1 for dismissal, safety is the most important thing during this time, you must be able to hear my directions ! 
