Alberta High School Diploma Requirements:
100 Credits Required Courses: English 30-1 or 30-2 Social Studies 30-1 or 30-2 Math 20 Level (20-1, 20-2, or 20-3) Science 20 Level (Bio, Chem, Physics, Sci 20 or 24) PE 10 CALM 10 Credits Options 10 Credits Any 30-level courses (excluding English 30 and Social 30) **K&E Certificate has different requirements… see your counsellor**

High School Diploma Elgibility and Credit Checks
All Grade 12 students must book a credit check appointment with their counsellor by October 31st **All counsellors are located in the main office**

Grad List Procedures @ MHHS
In April... Counsellors will check specific criteria in order for Grade 12s to be considered for Grad List Eligibility. **Initially, students may start “OFF” the Grad List** They will have a few weeks to clear up any outstanding issues to get “ON” the Grad List before official Grad Packages are distributed.

Omit From Grad List Students will be omitted from the grad list and participating in graduation ceremonies and banquet for the following reasons: Insufficient courses or credits Failing grades (marks below 50%) in required courses Incomplete Work Experience credits Incomplete Distance Learning or Central High School courses Outstanding school fees Lost textbooks or library books Poor attendance *once these things are dealt with by the student – counsellors will add them to the Grad List*

Fees Fee Invoices were distributed to students via TA on September 24, 2018 Please verify the information & check your address Ms. Melissa Holmes - (bookkeeper) is available in the office during school hours to take payments & provide information on fee exemptions and payment plans. Online payment is also available.

Grad Awards Many students are recognized and have the opportunity to receive an award!! Award Categories: Academic, Athletics, Complimentary Courses, Volunteering/Leadership Awards range from $100 - $2000 + Application: Awards Information Request (Grad Package: April) Include any post-secondary scholarships Honors Cords & Valedictorian Criteria White & Green Cords BRAG… BRAG…. BRAG when applying!

Post-Secondary Advising
Counsellors can provide students with post-secondary advising, but contacting institutions directly is recommended! **We hope you received valuable information at tonight’s event.** College & University recruiters will be at MHHS throughout the school year… Please listen to announcements for information on their visits.
