Fraction Rule: When the numerator is half the denominator, a fraction can be renamed as 1/2. 2/8 = 1/4 Look at your paper to see how many 16ths = 1/4 A fraction is an amount less than 1 whole. Fractions can have more than one name while keeping the same value: 4/16 = 2/8 = 1/4
