Alternates for the week:
Social Studies We wrapped up our Japan Unit this week with a big celebration on Thursday! Students learned how to use chopsticks, how to write Kanji, made origami and paper lanterns, and learned more about Japanese tea ceremonies. We had a blast! Thank you to the parents that helped run a station!! Science This week we learned about the impact that humans have on earth and brainstormed different ways we could help take care of it. Some students said they would take shorter showers, recycle more, and reuse different objects rather than throwing them away. Math This week we started chapters 13 & 17, Addition and Subtraction to 40 & 100. In these chapters students will learn addition and subtraction with and without regrouping and solve real-world addition and subtraction problems. We started addition regrouping and some students are having a hard time with this concept. It is super important that students practice at home. Please practice addition/subtraction facts with your child at home!
