Arguments for minimum wage
Protects the poorest workers from poverty The government may have to pay out less in benefits if people are paid more Every other European country has a minimal wage, so Britain should have one too The government will get more money in tax if people have higher incomes

Some people may lose there jobs if businesses have to pay out more wages Other workers might want more if they see others being paid more Prices may increase as costs for businesses increase Makes Britain less attractive to foreign companies who may not set up the businesses due to high wage bills
