Gather The Lord be with you And also with you
In our reading today Jesus says, "I am the vine and you are the branches. If you remain in me, you will have much fruit, but apart from me, you can do nothing." Jesus wants us to produce a lot of fruit. Good fruit like being kind, generous, and faithful. Most of all, he wants us to love others as he has loved us. Information from Sermons4Kids

"I am the vine, and you are the branches. Those who remain in me, and I in them, will bear much fruit; for you can do nothing without me. Those who do not remain in me are thrown out like a branch and dry up; such branches are gathered up and thrown into the fire, where they are burned. If you remain in me and my words remain in you, then you will ask for anything you wish, and you shall have it. Being connected to God is what makes Christians strong Illustrate the story with something electrical. When we are disconnected we don’t work, when we are connected we are switched on. Reflection What kind of plant are you? Leaf / fruit prayers Use the theme of Jesus the vine to encourage students to write prayers to attach to a branch—which could be displayed in the room... Ask students to draw a simple leaf of fruit pattern— Then write a prayer and attach to the branch Music / reflection Have a time of quiet reflection while you play a reflection about the true vine to the song—Worthy is the Lamb Share some fruit Talk about the fruits that come from staying connected to Jesus the vine Share some grapes or other fruit Discuss what good things / fruits faith can bear....
