Approach to move TGk forward
November 2000 doc.: IEEE /375 January 2003 Approach to move TGk forward Walter L. Johnson Motorola Walter L. Johnson, Motorola Mathilde Benveniste, AT&T Labs- Research
2
January 2003 Motivation To stimulate discussion among task group participants about how TGk should move forward in accomplishing its goal PAR is wide open (not limited to a particular PHY/MAC or a basic idea(s) as in TGh) Walter L. Johnson, Motorola

January 2003 Currently where we are? Several presentations made on using MIBs for RRM storage Issues and requirements draft – rXX – Richard Paine General ideas of problems would like to solve (VOIP, Video, Handover) Talk of active and passive measurement techniques Talk of methods of transferring measurements among entities Walter L. Johnson, Motorola

What we need to accomplish
January 2003 What we need to accomplish Form core group of ideas the group would like to solve (e.g. VOIP vs. Handover, a vs g, EBSS vs. IBSS) Distill the ideas into basic measurements required (get focus on PAR) Define the measurements (e.g. RSSI) Enable the measurements This will provide a toolset vendors and implementers can take advantage of to come up with other unique ideas not yet thought about Walter L. Johnson, Motorola

Previous 11-02-640r0 presentation
January 2003 Previous r0 presentation Presented by Harry Worstell, AT&T Labs Tried to breakdown measurements that might be required by an AP or STA at the MAC and PHY layers Walter L. Johnson, Motorola

I believe we need to form a core set of measurements required of TGk
November 2000 doc.: IEEE /375 January 2003 Conclusion I believe we need to form a core set of measurements required of TGk I would like to solicit comments from the TGk membership on how they believe we should proceed forward (discussion started during Monday night session - 01/13/2003) Walter L. Johnson, Motorola Mathilde Benveniste, AT&T Labs- Research
