Houston Market Movements
As mortgage rates rise, median sales prices increase and stiff competition for low inventory continues, buyers begin to face more limited housing options, especially for first-time buyers. That being said, for most weeks in 2017, sales across the U.S.A. have been higher in year-over-year comparisons with the same weeks in 2016.
In the Houston region, for the week ending February 26:
• New Listings increased 1.9% to 2,591
• Pending Sales increased 27.5% to 2,094
• Closed Sales decreased 13.2% to 1,349
