Something made by humans rather than something that occurs in nature The most critical dimension concerns itself with people’s assumptions about life that are often unspoken or hidden from consciousness It is a collective creation There are childhood experiences that help to develop particular values and practices

Differences become most evident in well meaning clashes Culture allows people to fill in the blanks Values tend to remain in place People experience strong emotional reactions when values are violated Values can be accepted and rejected at certain times When changes are contemplated expect resistance Expected behaviors across cultures often reveal clear contrasts
