4. Women’s Right
Indonesia’s Commission on Violence against women reported that since 1999, national and local governments have Passed 342 discriminatory regulations, including 79 local laws requiring women to wear the hijab.
The local laws has doubled, from 154 in 2009 to 334 in 2013, in July 2013 the ministers of home affairs said it would revoke only Eight of them.

5. Women’s Right
Indonesian women’s rights group have opposed the passage of these Discriminatory Regulations.
The National commission on Violence against the women linked the sharp decline in the enactment of such rules from 2006 to 2009 to the “Strong reactions from civil society at the national level”.
