Varsity Sport/WIAA Our short-term goal is for the AASD to recognize lacrosse as a varsity sport. Varsity sport status is granted by the school. It does not depend on the WIAA. ~70% of WI High Schools with a lacrosse team recognize lacrosse as a varsity sport. Performance Team, Cheer, Dance are varsity sports without WIAA recognition. Our long-term goal is for the WIAA to sanction lacrosse.
