Pre-seminar reflection in composition book Homework & Reminders: Next class: “The Most Dangerous Game” (annotate and answer ?s 2, 8 in composition book) Native Son pre-reading and Book 1 reading check 9.20/9.21.

4 Tackling the MWDS Get the pre-reading stuff out of the way NOW
Highlight characters as you go Transfer them to the MWDS, including some characteristics Write down plot points as you go As soon as you have insights on Bigger and his relationship with other characters, note that! You’ll have to save closing scene, motifs/symbols, and thematic statements for the end of the novel Saving EVERYTHING for the MWDS for when you finish the novel will STRESS YOU OUT Pace yourselves Do you want MWDS checks?

Reflect on your experience with the novel. Put your reflection in your composition notebook Include the following: Can you implement the ideas of this novel in your current life? How? What has this novel meant to you? What are you hoping to still take away from this experience?

Someone should begin discussion by asking a question, stating an opinion, or bringing up a motif Feel free to discuss the essay prompt (students who missed the test will have a separate prompt) This seminar may help you in the revision process Everyone is expected to contribute and actively listen A small group of individuals should not dominate Keep notes and keep track of who is contributing
