Math… What we will be learning *Building on 5th grade skills* Algebraic Expressions & Equations Decimals Fractions Percentages Integers Geometry Things start out as review for students but that at some point it becomes more difficult and it kind of hits them. Practice study skills even when concepts seem “easy”

Math Outline Daily Routine: Warm up Correct homework
Lesson notes and practice Homework Assignments: Usually 5-10 problems Worth 10 points Must attempt each problem to receive full credit Must have a parent signature and plan of action if work cannot be completed Quizzes & Tests: Quizzes throughout each chapter Tests at the end of each chapter Extra Credit (for students without a zero) Quarterly Benchmark Exams

Homework Help and Lesson Tutorials Online
Every Lesson has a tutorial video and extra help. Please visit this or have your student visit this, if they are struggling on a concept in the evening. This link will reinforce concepts taught in class

Please see student notebook Each night, students must write questions and summarize their notes. **Part of homework.

Math Assignment Policy
To receive full credit, assignments must be: completed in notebook set up correctly written neatly 100% complete with ALL work shown

Math Late Work Policy Worth, at most, 70%
Not accepted after chapter test Will only be graded if complete Student responsibility

Number of days absent=number of days to make up work Counted as late work, if not turned in on time Must show during h/w check or between classes Student responsibility

Passports Each unit of study (9 Folders) Passport Covers Due on day of unit test We will focus on The Fab Five Geography: Places, natural resources, etc. Society: Cultural expectations, social relationships, etc. Government: Types, purposes, impact, etc. Economics: Trade, slavery, etc. Religion: Types, mythology, impact, etc.

Social Studies Assignment Policy
To receive full credit, assignments must: be set up correctly written neatly or typed be 100% complete

Worth, at most, 70% Not accepted after current unit Will only be graded if complete No-name papers treated as late Student responsibility

Look in planner each night Check backpack weekly Follow through - late work, tests, absences Don’t clean out binder - papers are like receipts:) Provide reading books (should have in backpack everyday) Communication: Keep in Touch! ( is best)
