3. Once there was boy named Nathan
Once there was boy named Nathan. Nathan lived in the woods in a big house.

4. One day he was bored, and did not know what to do
One day he was bored, and did not know what to do. Nathan picked up the phone, and called his friend Avery to come play with him in the woods.

5. When Avery got to Nathan’s house they tried to think of something to do all day. Nathan and Avery decided to go in the woods and build a fort to play in. They built it out of wood and nails and 2 trees.

6. When they found a spot to build a fort, they made a path to the spot where they were going to build the fort so they could find it again. They went back to the house to get nails and wood.

7. They said they were going to build a fort with four walls and a door on the side with some windows, in between two trees.

8. When they got back to the house they got a hammer, a bucket of nails, and pieces of wood to build the fort with.

9. When they got all their supplies to build the fort, they planned how they were going to build a fort to play in.

10. Putting up other walls
Putting up walls.
To make the walls they had to nail a board to two trees for two walls of the fort. To put up the other walls they nailed a board to each end of the boards that were already up .

11. To make the roof they just put a board over top of he other boards, and nailed them down to the walls to keep out the rain. They do not want to get wet if they are in there when it starts to rain on them.

12. Finished fort
When they had finished the fort, they called their other friends to come play in their new fort that they built in the woods.

Derrick Thornton was born in the Yukon on the 28th of March in He grew up in Watson Lake for 7 years then moved to Shelburne Nova Scotia with his 2 brothers and his parents.
