2 Content of this presentation
Punctuality of transmission and validation Use of eDAMIS for SRQ transmission Completeness of supplied data Sample coverage (of population) Coverage of categories AD/AST/SC Improvements for next exercise…

3 Punctual transmission
31st July target date for SRQ submission was largely achieved… …except for 9 countries (i.e. CZ, EE, IE, EL, MT, AT, PT, SK, FI) No data for HR and RO

4 Punctual validation Outline timetable in manual Doc.A6465/14/26rev
By mid-October 2016 calculations finalised for all countries, and explicit validations obtained from the delegates. Tacit validation applied for PL and UK. Eurostat report launched

5 Use of eDAMIS by national delegates
eDAMIS is the approved tool for data transmission to Eurostat Increase in number of countries which used eDamis for the 2016 annual exercise… … only EE, AT, FI, UK transmitted by (for comparison: previous year no eDamis use for 8 countries) Reason for non-use: change in delegate (delay in permission)

6 Completeness of supplied data
Remuneration data supplied for upper/median/lower steps in grade, for 21 countries now including SK following change in sample For remaining 5 countries, the non-supply is linked to specific national circumstances: No data for upper and lower steps for DK and SE No data for median step in grade for IT and LU UK: median calculation was supplied subsequently

7 Sample coverage (of population)
Sample for which data supplied represents 100% of central government population, except for : Threshold of 75% coverage should be applied (see SRQ guidelines). % 90-100 CZ, CY, LV, HU, PT 75-90 ES, AT 50-75 UK (±68%) < 50 SK (±28%), FI (±10%)

8 ESA 2010 Table 1. Staff Central government staff broken down by category and by grade Reference period ……………………………………………………………………. Category Grade Sample Reference population ** ESA central govt. + [1] [2] [3] [4] [5] AD * AD-total AST * AST-total SC * SC-total Total Since SRQ 2014 SRQ Guidelines: "permanent statutory staff of the central government (sub-sector S.1311 of the ESA European System of Accounts)". 2016 exercise: < 50% of MS provided info – which means calculation of Control Indicator required by the Staff Regulations is less accurate!
