1 A LOOK INTO THE HUMAN ANATOMY AND IT’S SYSTEMS
THE HUMAN BODY A LOOK INTO THE HUMAN ANATOMY AND IT’S SYSTEMS

2 Our Amazing Body Human body is like a machine, in that each part of the body has it’s own job. These parts work together to keep the body alive, much like the parts of an automobile work to make it run. There are different systems that make up the human body, let’s explore!

3 SYSTEMS OF THE BODY The body is made up of several different systems of organs. Each of these systems has it’s own job, that work together to keep the body functioning. They are: Skeletal System, Digestive, Urinary, Respiratory, Circulatory, Nervous and the Reproductive system.

4 SKELETAL SYSTEM Consists of 206 bones and hundreds of muscles, which helps the body move. Skeleton has 2 main parts, the axial skeleton, and the appendicular skeleton.

5 THE DIGESTIVE SYSTEM Prepares food for the cells
Starts with the mouth. Teeth and saliva break food down. Food travels to the stomach where cells absorb nutrients. In digestion the starting point is the mouth. The teeth are designed to grind food while the slaiva’s function is to break that food down further. When the food travels to the stomach the stomach produces acis that break the food down even more so that it can be absorbed throught eh body.

6 THE RESPIRATORY SYSTEM
Includes, nose, larynx, trachea and lungs. System brings air into the body and removes the carbon dioxide through breathing. Muscles contract to enlarge the chest.

7 THE URINARY/Excretory SYSTEM
Involves the Kidneys and urethra. Removes waste products from the body, which can be poisonous if they are not removed.

8 CIRCULATORY SYSTEM Carries blood to the body.
The heart, arteries, veins, and capillaries make up the system. Veins carry blood to the heart. Arteries carry blood away from the heart.

9 THE NERVOUS SYSTEM Regulates the activities of all the other systems.
It has 5 major regions, the spinal cord, cerebrum, cerebellum, pons, and medulla oblongata.

10 THE REPRODUCTIVE SYSTEM(FEMALE)
The female system produces egg cells. When an egg is fertilized it stays in the uterus where it develops into a baby.

11 THE REPRODUCTIVE SYSTEM(MALE)
Consists of the testes that produce sperm. When sperm unites with the egg of the female, fertilization occurs.

12 Integumentary System Protects against infection
Regulates body temperature Includes skin, hair, sweat glands

13 Endocrine System Controls growth and development
Includes hypothalamus, pituitary, and thyroid glands, pancreas, ovaries and testes
