1 October newsletter Toys in School Harvest Celebration Reminder please:
Now that we are into October and the children are settling well, we would ask you not to allow your child to bring in any toys/food from home as these can be a distraction to the other children in the class. Please could you also check your child’s pockets daily for any little toys from Nursery that may have been taken home by mistake. Do not be embarrassed at all about returning these. October newsletter Our theme this month is Autumn/Gardening/Harvest. We will be digging up weeds and planting in our garden. Throughout the month we will be looking closely at different leaves, making collages from natural resources, learning about the season, and maybe bobbing for apples! We will be making wheaten bread and vegetable soup. Our colours are brown and orange. Our shape is triangle. We will be talking about the concepts of rough/smooth and wet/dry. Encourage your child to bring in autumn leaves, acorns, pine cones, twigs or any other amazing things they find when out on an autumn walk. Harvest Celebration Please bring in cans, boxes & packets of food or drink items (non-perishable) for our harvest collection for Percy St pensioners. Please place your donations in the box outside the staff room. We will then make them up into hampers to share with our friends in the local community at our harvest celebration. Please bring donations week beginning 8th Oct. Reminder please: NO shoes with laces in Nursery. Thank you. Child Sickness If your child is ill – please phone or text the nursery to let us know that he/she won’t be in. If your child has been vomiting or has had diarrhoea then they should not return to school until they have had AT LEAST 24 hrs clear from the last incident of illness. Afterschools club Miss Jackson is running Footsteps. Include £4 per day in Purple envelopes. Pick up time is 2:30 please. Diary Dates Please check the calendar tab on our school website for all that is happening in school. Our last day before Half-term break is Friday 26th October Breakfast Club is available on this day but there will be no Afterschool as Nursery will close at noon. Nursery will re-open on Monday 5th November when we will be enjoying our first ‘Jump, Jiggle & Jive’ session of the year! Photographs Our school photographer, Fran from Lifestyle Photography, will be in school on Wed. 10th October to take individual photos of each child. More details will follow. Safety I would ask that you do not park on or near the yellow lines at the front of the school when dropping off or picking up your child. Thank you.
