4 Positive Behavior Interventions & Support
Positive Behavior Support is a process for teaching and supporting appropriate behavior with a positive approach. PBIS is not a curriculum or program - it is a framework for systems to identify needs, develop strategies, and evaluate practice towards success. PBIS reduces challenging student behavior through a: Proactive, Positive, and Consistent system across all school settings.

5 Classroom Expectations
Show classroom matrix and discuss. Include discussion of parent expectations for homework.

6 Parent Expectations - SAFE
During the School Day Sign in and out at the office. Wear a visitor’s badge when on campus. Only Anza students are allowed on the playground. Please visit us after school and on weekend as a family. Unless approved, photograph only your child. Pick-Up/ Drop-off Utilize the drop off “Valet Service” in the morning. Park in a legal space at all times. Students WILL NOT be released to parents parked illegally. Students are released only to adults listed on the emergency card or with written permission. Wait for the crossing guard to signal for safe crossing. Student Support Use lunch tables appropriately by sitting on the chairs.

7 Parent Expectations - RESPECTFUL
During the School Day Schedule to conference with teachers when they and you can give full attention. Pick-Up/ Drop-off Staff parking areas are for staff only. Parents are to stop at the West boundary (red line) of the classroom buildings for drop off and pick-up. Student Support Use kind words and actions. Wait for your turn. Follow staff directions. Touch property with permission only.

8 Parent Expectations - RESPONSIBLE
During the School Day Sign out children in the office when taking them out during school hours. Pick-Up/ Drop-off The Z-gate is for student entry only. Parents are to wait outside of the Z-gate. Student Support Support student in being on-time and prepared for school. Set a good example for your children by following all the rules. Clean up after self. Parents are in charge of their children's behavior before and after school and are to enforce school expectations.

Peace games at recess, peace books/activities in the classroom Bullying Prevention & Awareness Month - October Bullying Prevention lessons and survey in the classrooms Mix-It-Up at Lunch day - Usually the 3rd Tuesday in October Bullying Awareness and Prevention Assembly Career Day in June - please contact counselor if you are interested.
