6 Live production: Live to tape
The same as streaming/broadcast, only the entire production is recorded to “tape” (also known as a hard disk or drive) Most productions are then just played as-is. Some producers will then come back and edit for content or time trimming.

7 Live production: Event production
Any event, including: Graduation Sporting events School ceremonies Memorials or tributes Sometimes these events are projected onto a large screen for the audience to have a better view. Other times they are live-to-tape because of limited internet/ projector availability.

8 Live production: Pre-produced
Most of the show elements are produced in advance. Can be: Video packages B-Roll Interviews Requires some time of video switcher/ playback system.

10 Live production checklist
Make sure you have reliable Internet before you tell the public about your live event (if streaming). Have a tripod – no one likes to watch a shaky live event. Have a power source beyond the camera’s battery.

Know your audio situation Are you using a switcher, tablet, phone, etc.? Set up your audio accordingly; think about whether your audience will want to listen in. Test your stream early How does the lighting look? Is there someone standing in front of your camera? Have a publicity plan in place If you don’t notify your audience where and how to watch, they won’t.
