5 … and what goes into it? Nursing directorate’s Compassionate Care projects – focus on the importance of clinical leadership and in particular the vital role played by ward leaders  in ensuring high quality, safe compassionate care is provided to patients and service users ANT (Advanced Nursing Team)service improvement projects - projects have included decreasing waiting times for outpatient clinics, more efficient ways to administer apheresis and, ways to streamline assessments and screenings. Multi-disciplinary QI (quality improvement) projects – invitation to multi-disciplinary clinical teams to present ideas that could improve patient care. CMT projects – QIPs Carried out by core medical trainees.  QIPs provide great opportunities to contribute more widely to the quality and safety of clinical care. Research projects Conference presentations Clinical audits - Clinical audit is a quality improvement process that enables clinicians to systematically improve patient care and clinical outcomes by reviewing them against specific criteria.
