Figure 1 Reverse transcriptase polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) analysis of human telomerase reverse transcriptase (hTERT) expression in lavage specimens. The messenger RNA levels of hTERT were determined by using RT-PCR. Fragments were resolved on 2% agarose gels and visualized by ethidium bromide staining. Lane 1 shows expression in the positive control, a lung adenocarcinoma cell line, and lane 2 shows the negative control, normal pleural mesothelial cells. Lanes 4-7 contain pleural lavage specimens.
