2. What is JUSP?
The Journal Usage Statistics Portal provides a FREE “one stop shop” for libraries to access and download usage statistics from a wide range of journal publishers.

3. How it all started …
Interest in a one stop shop for COUNTER journal reports dates back to studies carried out in 2005 and before
Jisc Collections commissioned various parties to develop a demonstrator/prototype service for a small subset of publishers (Elsevier, Springer, OUP) and 5 libraries
JUSP was launched into service in early 2010 and has rapidly expanded ever since

4. Who provides JUSP?
JUSP is funded by Jisc and provided by a consortium of partners:
Mimas (Jisc, formerly The University of Manchester) – day to day running, data collection, database admin, support, website, technical development
Jisc Collections – publisher agreements
Evidence Base – user support and training
Cranfield University – technical development

5. What does JUSP contain?
COUNTER JR1, JR1a, JR1 GOA reports for 60 publishers and 4 intermediaries
Data back to January 2009 where available
Expanding publisher list
Around 230 million individual bits of data
Data for more than 160 institutions
Title lists and deal information
Over 25 reports, charts and tables providing access to the data in a wide range of forms!

JR5 reports
Book and database reports
Cost information
Unchecked data!

7. Reports and features
4 journal level reports, including JR1; gateway data; JR1 minus JR1a / JR1 GOA; journal search
12 summary reports, including SCONUL; top titles; breakdown of usage by date range and publisher
8 titles and deals reports including titles v deals; title lists; comparison of deals
Usage profiling report – compare your site with others in your band / groups / region / consortium

8. Gathering the data …
SUSHI – Standardized Usage Statistics Harvesting Initiative: machine to machine
We collect approximately 7,000 reports per month
Backdata / new publishers or sites / missing accounts / restated data
Every report is checked visually, and by automated checking software prior to loading
No reports added unless we’re happy!
Any odd data spikes or global errors reported
