The Roman Catholic Church believes that we should stop using embryonic stem cells.
However, they argue that the use of adult stem cells should be encouraged.
They also point out that adult stem cell research has resulted in successful treatments, whereas up till now embryonic stem cell research has not.

When the HFEA was amended in 2008 the creation of human/animal hybrids was approved.
They can only be used for research purposes.
