1. Assessment is the bridge between teaching and learning. 2. Assessment has a range of purposes: Assessment of learning Assessment for learning Assessment as learning 3. Assessment is (to varying degrees) a collaborative exercise. 4. Assessment requires focused thinking (e.g., reflection and evaluation). 5. Assessment is the key to improvement.
