4. Language Objective
By the end of the lesson, students will be able to use the language domains of reading and writing to communicate the academic math language of statistics.
They will be able to create a statistical question so that they can complete a statistical project by collecting data to analyze and summarize.
They will show that I understood it by completing 2 examples as a class and then by working with their groups to successfully create our own statistical question with 100% accuracy.
Academic Math Language Vocabulary: statistical question, data collection, graphs, variability centers- mean, mode, median, range, MAD, template.

5. Developing a Statistical Project
Over the next few days, you will be working in a small group to apply the skills you have learned from statistics to create and implement your own statistical project.
Your group will:
Create a statistical question.
Determine a data collection tool.
Gather the data using the collection tool from at least 40 students.
Organize the data you have collected and graph the data in at least 2 different ways.
Utilize the graphs to answer your statistical question.
Create a visual (poster) that includes your statistical question, graphs, measures of center and variability (mean, median, mode, MAD, range)
Prepare a presentation
