7. Netflix (Although it’s not really a social media app)
Netflix was founded on August 29, 1997
It was founded by Reed Hastings and Marc Randolph
Netflix has over 75 million subscribers
Netflix has over 1 billion movies and TV shows
The idea of Netflix came to Hastings after returning a DVD well past its due date and having to pay $40 extra
Netflix originally mailed DVDs and CDs to their customers

8. Vine Vine was developed by Twitter
Its original authors were Dom Hoffmann, Rus Yusupov, Colin Kroll
It was founded in June 2012
Videos are only six seconds long
As of December 2015 Vine had over 200 million users
In October 2012 Twitter bought it for $30 million
On April 9, 2013 Vine became the most downloaded free app on the app store

It was founded by Chris DeWolfe
From MySpace was the largest social networking in the world
In June 2011 Specific Media Group and Justin Timberlake bought Myspace for $35 million

10. Youtube Youtube was founded on Febuary 14, 2005
It Was founded by steve Chen, Chad Hurley and Jawed Karim
In November 2006 Google bought Youtube for 1.65$ billion
They came up with the idea after having a hard time sharing videos at a dinner party
