Research Organisation AKORN Santa Maria College Resources Project Brief Project supervision Student Project AKORN is an educational provider which can do the liaison between the school and the science/engineering/other facilities. Each state has such providers. Usually they coordinate work experience for schools. The teachers remain in control of the curriculum structures and outcomes for the program of learning. The use of an educational provider can allow teacher to promote learning without doing the liaising with scientists. Other Schools Students

Link the partnership students projects to curriculum outcomes for students Emerging technologies, engaging open ended tasks, interdisciplinary nature of science, encouraging girls into the physical sciences by showing it is relevant, helps people & interfaces with traditional subjects that are chosen by girls/biology (research linked) Link the partnership and projects to long term goals for SMC e.g. MYP IB Year 10 projects supported by partners Provide an outreach components for other students both in general community and remote via the internet/web site Share the resources and materials developed by students Have virtual environment for the emerging technologies and the science with science methods used
