Outreach Activities by Region - 2010 Outcome -
< U.S. > Work with DESC on broader energy policy issues DESC Objective: The ICT industry’s contribution to the world’s energy and carbon footprint estimated to be two percent and rising. This is the “micro story”. ICT also can play a significant role in reducing the footprint of the rest of society—the other 98 percent—through the energy efficiency gains such technologies can help enable. This is the “macro story.” 10 10 10

Past Activities Appendix At 2007 WSC, policy paper of energy savings.
At 2007 GAMS, WSC's challenge on improving energy efficiency throughout our society. At 2008 WSC, joint statement of industry's challenge. On May 2008, the WSC Chair made a presentation at the Green IT International symposium in Tokyo. At 2009 WSC, SIA in US introduced "Semiconductor Opportunities From Recent Energy Studies." In December 2009, 2009 Green IT material was finalized. In September 2010, 2010 Green IT material was finalized. Both at 2010 WSC and at GAMS, SIRIJ's Social Contribution Report was introduced. Each SIA reaches out its outreach activities such as: to cooperate with ITRS, to issue environmental brochure, to appeal government/authorities on saving energy, and to reach out to decision makers on energy policy. JSTC – February 24, 2011, Shanghai, China

Appendix Objectives At Gifu JSTC in February 2009, following objectives were approved. To continue to boost the contribution of semiconductors and highlight to the government and the public the contribution that semiconductors make to a green society. Exchange information on our respective initiatives to stimulate OR activities. JSTC – February 24, 2011, Shanghai, China

Appendix Activities At Barcelona JSTC in Febuary 2010, the followings are approved. To update Green IT Presentation Material annually. To upload the updated Green IT Presentation Material on WSC Web site and to encourage to utilize that material for outreach activities. Also to upload that material on regional association's Web site and to encourage to utilize it. As to other activities at Outreach TF to receive direction from JSTC and to execute them based upon that direction. JSTC – February 24, 2011, Shanghai, China
