6. The Personal Work of Being a Husband
Lots of people use the term “personal work”, usually referring to sharing the gospel with others.

9. Husband Headship
Headship means Leadership - It is NOT something earned or forced - Standing AS CHRIST before the home The Work of Headship is lost when: - Men force others to lead them - Men do not stand in front as examples
Headship is not being the Boss; it means being the source of spiritual behavior in a home

10. Loving Like Christ
Christ’s love = working EVERYTHING to aid - DYING to provide for His ONE bride - Providing EVERYTHING she needs spiritually The Work of Christ’s love is lost when: - We put our desires first - We have love for something else first
Two kinds of love – the one that seeks to respond to another, and the one that seeks the best for another
1Co 13:7 bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.
Christlike male headship means that you love just one wife. Like Jesus, who loved only his bride, you have eyes for no one else. You save up your affection for her. You live on a continual mission to treasure her and to make her feel treasured

11. Learning to Love Yourself
Loving your own self - Confidence in headship - Valuing yourself in Christ The need to love yourself is lost when: - You value the wrong things in yourself - You fail to esteem what Christ loves in you
Heb 5:8 Although He was a Son, He learned obedience from the things which He suffered. 9 And having been made perfect, He became to all those who obey Him the source of eternal salvation,

12. Presenting Your Wife Holy
Presentation of a wife before God - You are charged with her spiritual enablement - You are God’s son-in-law too Failing to present our wives holy is when: - We make it harder for them to be faithful - We don’t demonstrate spiritual conduct
Tit 3:5 He saved us, not on the basis of deeds which we have done in righteousness, but according to His mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewing by the Holy Spirit,

13. Living in an Understanding Way
Jesus is a merciful and understand High Priest - He had to learn this quality - Husbands must learn to understand their wives Men are not in an understanding way when: - They have not exerted effort to understand - They are unwilling to be empathetic
Heb 2:17 Therefore, He had to be made like His brethren in all things, so that He might become a merciful and faithful high priest in things pertaining to God, to make propitiation for the sins of the people. 18 For since He Himself was tempted in that which He has suffered, He is able to come to the aid of those who are tempted.

16. Can All These Works Be In Vain?
Matthew 7:22-23
