1. Steps to a Crime scene

2. Step 1
Interview is the first step in processing a crime scene. The crime scene technician must interview the first officer at the scene or the victim to ascertain the "theory" of the case. Basically what allegedly happened, what crime took place, and how was the crime committed. This information may not be factual information but it will give the crime scene technician a base from which to start.

3. Step 2
Examine the crime scene as the second step in the protocol. Examine the scene for what? To ascertain if the "theory" of the case is substantiated by what the crime scene technician observes. Examining the scene to identify possible items of evidentiary nature, identify point of entry and point of exit, and getting the general layout of the crime scene.

4. Step 3
Photograph the crime scene is the third step in the protocol. Photographing the crime scene to record a pictorial view of what the scene looks like and to record items of possible evidence. Crime scene photographs are generally taken in two categories, overall views and items of evidence.

5. Step 4
Sketch the crime scene is the fourth step in the protocol. A rough sketch is completed by the crime scene technician to demonstrate the layout of the crime scene or to identify the exact position of the deceased victim or evidence within the crime scene. A crime scene sketch may not be completed on every case, however some form of sketching usually occurs in most cases, i.e., on a fingerprint lift card to identify exactly where the latent was recovered.

6. Step 5
Process the crime scene. Process the scene for what? The crime scene technician will process the crime scene for evidence, both physical and testimonial evidence. It is the crime scene technicians responsibility to identify, evaluate and collect physical evidence from the crime scene for further analysis by a crime laboratory.

7. After crime scene
In a crime if there is a death they bring the bodies back the morgue and process and examine the body in room like this.

10. Your Very one Crime…
A couple, Matt and Karen, were driving on highway X, a dark and deserted country road, looking for a gas station. They sputter to a stop as their car runs out of gas.
Matt says to Karen, “Stay here. I will walk into town to get some gas or phone for help. It will probably be a while, so I will leave the keys with you so you can listen to the radio. Remember to lock all the windows and doors when I leave.”
Matt starts off to town and Karen locks ALL the windows and doors.
Next, she turned on the radio and heard the following news report:
“A convicted serial murder has just escaped from a police van, traveling on county highway X, on his way to the state prison. He was last seen wearing an orange jump suite and is considered EXTREMLY DANGEROUS. He is 6”1’ and 232 lbs. Please contact the police immediately if you see him.”
Karen got very scared, so she double-checked that all of the doors and windows were locked. Then she saw a man, fitting the serial murder’s description and dressed in all orange, running towards the car.
An hour later, Matt returned to his car to find Karen inside and dead!
All the windows and doors were still locked. No windows were broken, no scratches; in fact, the car was in the same condition as he had left it.
How did the escaped serial murderer kill Karen?

12. Karen died because she had a heart attack when the killer approached her car.
